Ballet & jazz programme for young dancers

Do you love to dance? Do you want to do more dance each month? How about meeting other dancers from the region, and learning from a well respected dance educator?

Now you can! Starting in September 2025 there’s a new dance associates programme for young dancers in Cumbria focusing on Ballet and Jazz dance genres.

Dancers will work with experienced dance professional Anna Olejnicki (read her biog) to develop their confidence, skills and knowledge in a friendly, inclusive environment. This programme is designed to complement any existing dance training you may have. Anna is not affiliated with any schools in the area and is offering this as a chance for young people to come together to develop their love of dance.

If this sounds like fun to you, sign up and secure your place from September. Session will run once a month over 10 months as outlined below and will be held at Ford Park, Williams Room, Ulverston, LA12 7JP.

The length of each class for juniors will be 75 minutes, and for seniors it will be 90 minutes.

Payment

The cost for juniors is £17.50 per class or take both ballet & jazz classes for £30 per session. For seniors it is £20 per class or you can take both ballet & jazz classes for £35 per session. Sessions run once per month and there are 10 sessions per year.

Fees are to be paid in full for the year, or in 3 equal installments in September, January & April. If you pay in full for the year up front you will receive a 10% discount on the total cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

What will I learn in the ballet sessions?

Along with body conditioning and strengthening your technique, we will look at all aspects of classical ballet, developing knowledge of the style through history and terminology, looking at creative approaches to creating your own choreography.

What will I learn in the jazz sessions?

You will develop your technique and flexibility where we will cover different styles of jazz including: Broadway style, commercial and heels. You will also have the opportunity to work on developing your choreography.

Do I need any previous dance experience?

We would like you to have experienced dance classes before – in any genre. If you want to learn more about ballet and jazz but haven’t done them before we’ll be happy to welcome you to our programme – as long as you’re ready to work hard!

How much does it cost?

The cost is £20 per session or you can take both ballet & jazz sessions for £35 per week. The fee is to be paid in full for the year, or paid in 3 equal instalments in September, January & April.

If you pay for a full year up front you will receive a 10% discount on the total cost.

For example; If you take both the ballet & jazz classes the cost would be £350 for the year. If you wish to pay in instalments the cost would be £116.67 payable in September, January & April. If you pay up front the cost (including the 10% discount) would be £315 payable in September.
